Though it is still experimental and rare, some people believe that injecting Botox into the stomach muscles may be a way to suppress your appetite.
The stomach empties by a wave of muscle contractions, so the hypothesis is that if those muscles are relaxed and don’t contract, food will remain in the stomach longer, so you’ll feel fuller and won’t eat as much. Although it’s not yet clear to researchers how much weight one can lose this way, they believe it could be a method to help the obese lose initial weight so weight-loss surgery is safer.
