I like lavender—a lot. Saying that is almost like the ultimate secret beauty confession for some people; it seems to be one of the most split-down-the-middle scents out there (patchouli still takes first place, but, let’s be honest, lavender is not lagging that far behind). I’ve had coworkers plead with me not to wear anything that has even the slightest hint of it; likewise, I’ve been drenched in something that contains it and had complete strangers stop me on the street to tell me they liked whatever perfume I was wearing.

But, this is not the tale of finding your “what-are-you-wearing?” fragrance; this is the tale of finding a really amazing facial oil that also has the incredible bonus of smelling like the most perfect lavender-botanical concoction I’ve ever sniffed (to the point that when I first cracked it open, I started applying it on my arms and legs).
For starters, the Borghese Fango Active Radiance Facial Oil ($60) is light—really, really light to the point that absorbs almost like a dry oil. It sinks into skin on contact (it even works surprisingly well over makeup to give your complexion some “dew”), and creates the perfect luminous—not-at-all greasy—glow. It also has an impressive ingredient lineup: skin-softening sweet almond, avocado and grapeseed oils, and superantioxidants vitamins A, C and E. Even if you don’t fall on the side of being a fan of lavender, you will be hooked.
