For those don’t want to commit to breast augmentation, but still want a nice-looking, lifted and perky chest, there are some options to enhance your breasts without implants. We’ve rounded them up so you can attempt to boost your bust without bandages.
The Good Old Fashioned Way
Exercise is a great way to tone your chest and lift your breasts by tightening the pectoral muscles. “For patients who want to increase their chests without surgery, I recommend resistance exercises and free weights,” says Melbourne, FL plastic surgeon Michael Diaz, MD. “It doesn’t add much in terms of size, but the patients feel better and it helps them tone.” To do this, you can start with classic pushups, using your own body weight as resistance, and move onto dumbbell flies. Just lie on a bench, grab two five to 10 pound weights and lift your arms up toward the ceiling with your elbows slightly bent. Open and close your arms for 15 reps. Do two sets in a row three times a week.
The Brava Way
Though it sounds like science fiction, there is a device called Brava that uses sustained tension on your breasts to cause “tissue expansion.” If you wear the cone-shaped device on your breasts for 10 hours every day for 10 to 14 consecutive weeks, you will grow new breast tissue, resulting in larger, fuller breasts. Doctors say that it is safe and works, but can only do so much. “It has been shown to increase the size of the breasts, but not by much,” says Dr. Diaz.
The Fat Grafting Way
Your unwanted fat in your thighs or butt could become liquid gold for your breasts. “The most popular noninvasive way to increase the size of the breasts in a ‘nonsurgical’ manner would be with the transfer of fat from one area of the body (via liposuction techniques) into the breasts,” says Morristown, NJ, plastic surgeon Brian S. Glatt, MD. “This is still somewhat controversial and is best used in selected type of patients. It can also provide only a modest increase in size and not a dramatic one,” he says.
