It doesn’t take an in-depth analysis to verify the following: Dry shampoo is trending—almost everyone owns one, wants one or is about to purchase one in the quest for stepping up their second-day hair game. “The trend really has no signs of slowing down,” says Melani Heller, director of product development for HASK.
One thing the hair care brand recently noticed: The popular category tends to focus solely on fragrance differentiation, but not that many brands highlight the ingredient attributes and most dry shampoos options tend to be one-size-fits-all. “We felt it was important to offer consumers not only a choice of fragrance, but also a product that is formulated to provide distinct benefits,” Heller says.
That’s why HASK was set on creating a dry shampoo line that relied on exotic oils that the brand holds dear to its core focus. “We wanted to take advantage of the great ingredients we source from around the world and bring it into our dry shampoos,” Heller says.
This week the company is rolling out a five-piece dry shampoo collection that does pretty much everything in terms of hair refreshing a product could possibly do. There’s the Argan, Kalahari, Coconut, Charcoal, and Chia, and each offers something distinctly different—different fragrance, different benefits, different volume level—depending on what your strands need that day. For example, the Charcoal is tops in soaking up sweat post-workout; the Coconut is a bit better if you have a great blowout going on and just need a little more bounce after sleeping on it. Plus, at $8 a bottle, you can test a bit before you get the one that’s just right for you.
