Aucoin passed away in 2002 at age 40; the film will feature interviews with friends, family and will include some of the famous faces—Christy Turlington Burns, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, more specifically—that he worked with.
"To many, myself included Linda Evangelista was (still is and will always remain) a revelation in the fickle worlds of fashion and modeling. But with her rare beauty, style, intelligence, professionalism, and humanity, Linda won our hearts. Everyone wanted to either know or look like Ms. Evangelista - and who wouldn't? I first worked with Linda in the eighties and have yet to meet another model who was more involved in any aspect of her work. Her specialties was knowing what was best for her hair, makeup, styling, and lighting - and Linda was always right. It was mind-boggling. Many of the unforgettable images of this haunting beauty were in great degree due to her involvement" -Kevyn Aucoin #FaceForward
“I began my career in film as a makeup artist and I met Kevyn while he was filming an episode of Sex and the City,” Bartok told the Hollywood Reporter. “I was a fan and his work greatly inspired my own. As a filmmaker, researching his personal and professional life, I became fascinated by its layers and complexities. And how strongly those around him were affected by the loss of him.”
