Anastasia’s New Foundation Stick Is as Good as You’d Expect

Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand that became a household name because of one thing: Their products are just that good. Before Instagram stars made eyebrows everyone’s most obsessed-over feature, Anastasia built the original brow empire with a patented Golden Ratio technique (yes, it’s that brow-shaping tutorial you see everywhere) and a collection of products that celebs and plebs alike couldn’t get enough of.

So when we learned that the brand decided to make an entry into a whole new category—foundation—we had high hopes and their inaugural product did not disappoint. The Anastasia Stick Foundation is everything that we love about a good makeup product. The highly pigmented stick is easy to use and super buildable, allowing you to concentrate on any trouble areas or blend it out across your face. The soft-matte finish makes it ideal for combination or oily skin, leaving you looking neither shiny nor flat. After hours of wear, the product generally stayed put—especially in areas where I had used a heavier hand—but didn’t turn greasy or settle into creases. The stick format also makes it easy to touch up, and I find myself using it in place of a concealer around my lips and nose.

The foundation is available in 28 shades, ranging from the fairest fair to six hues on the deeper end of the spectrum. The range also includes three shades specifically made for contouring and a yellow-based highlighting stick that gives a beautiful brightening effect without any sparkles or wet sheen.

The best part? In addition to working for a wide range of skin tones, it should also work for a wide range of budgets. One stick, which should last you months, retails for $25.
