Since beginning her journey on the most recent season of The Bachelor, second runner-up and America’s sweetheart Caila Quinn sparked a social media frenzy about what she does to get her hair so bouncy and shiny—it’s practically perfect. In addition to her fans, we also wanted to know her hair secrets. Here’s the inside scoop!

NewBeauty: What does your typical hair routine consist of?
Caila Quinn: After I shower each morning, I brush out the ends of my wet hair and start by blow-drying my bangs on high heat, just running my fingers through my hair loosely. I finish drying my hair by holding all of my ends together—it gives the ends a natural curl. Next I use finishing spray to prevent frizz and then I run my fingers through my dry hair before I curl it. I use a 1-inch Conair barrel curling iron, starting in the middle, then slowly working the curler to the end, where I hold it for a little more time. Gotta get that bounce, you know?

NB: What products do you use?
CQ: Right now I am using a Biolage shampoo (varies depending on which scent I’m feeling), Aussie 3-Minute Miracle (I use it every third wash and I leave it in for a whole 15 minutes. It is my favorite! I think it is especially wonderful for girls with long hair who don’t want to cut their ends all the time—it leaves my hair so smooth) and Not Your Mother’s Double Take Dry Finish Texture Spray

NB: How often do you wash it? Color it?
CQ: I normally wash my hair every other day, but I also wash my hair after every workout. And anytime my hair is wet, I blow-dry and heat style it. In terms of color, I love keeping it natural. Although, I did go through an experimental phase in college where I tried maroon and I felt pretty foxy.

NB: Many of your social media followers and fans have used the hashtag #HairGoals when commenting on your posts. Who do you look to for hair inspiration?
CQ: Too funny! I would say I take my hairspiration from Selena Gomez—can you say flawless? Oh and Natalie Portman. I love her classic and romantic tousled hairstyle with the occasional summer bow.

NB: Who’s the lucky stylist that gets to work with you?
CQ: Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the same hairstylist twice. I am a big fan of recommendations and I’m pretty trusting of experts in their craft, as long as they know how to layer and keep it long. I think I cut my hair once a year, if that!

NB: What’s your personal mane mantra?
CQ: I kind of like to live by the motto of “less is more” when it comes to hair. Less hairspray, less color and more natural fun! Unleash your hair’s flirty freedom and let it down. Plus, you never know when a guy might want to run his fingers through it!
