“Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer; an estimated 2.8 million cases of it are diagnosed annually in the United States,” says Houston dermatologist Paul M. Friedman, MD. “Almost all basal cell carcinomas occur on parts of the body excessively exposed to the sun—the face, ears, neck, scalp, shoulders and back.”
In his post, Jackman urges his followers to wear sunscreen and get checkups regularly. The best thing you can do to protect yourself: Wear an SPF of at least 30 every single day no matter what, avoid the sun during the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and wear protective clothing.
