Bagged salad isn’t exactly the most appetizing way of getting your daily greens, but taste aside, there’s a serious new health risk of consuming these packaged vegetables. A current listeria outbreak is linked to packaged salads produced at a Dole facility in Springfield, Ohio and has led to illness in 12 people and the death of one. Affected victims range from age 3 to 83 and cases have been reported in Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Packaged salads sold under the names Dole, Simple Truth, Marketside, Fresh Selections, The Little Salad Bar and President’s Choice are all believed to be affected and are being recalled. Salad produced at the tainted plant are sold with the manufacturing label that starts with an A. The FDA has released the following visual guide to help consumers identify if they may have purchased a product from the Ohio plant.

According to the CDC, Listeria is a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, pregnant women, children and those with weakened immune system. Symptoms may include fever, aches and a stiff neck.
