The Expert-Approved 1-Day Flat Stomach Meal Plan

You're one day away from your big event—a wedding, a party or a day at the beach—and your stomach isn’t looking as flat as you'd hoped. Don't fret, there’s still time. We asked holistic nutritionist Yuri Elkaim for a one-day meal plan to help slim down your belly so you can look and feel your best.

Breakfast
This doesn’t need to be the norm, but if you have an event coming up and you're not hungry, skip breakfast. Elkaim suggests, “Eat nothing other than water with lemon and stay in this fasted state until you are hungry, then have lunch. This gives the body some time without having to digest food, allowing it to more effectively eliminate waste and work through fat stores for energy.” This will leave you feeling less bloated.

Lunch
It’s time to go green…or at least when it comes to your smoothie. For lunch, Elkaim recommends having a green smoothie, which provides great nutrition without excessive calories so you'll feel satisfied without tons of food sitting in your stomach. "To make your own green smoothie, combine 2 cups kale, 1 apple, 1 banana, juice from 1/2 a lime, hemp seeds, and 3 cups of water.” Blend and enjoy.

Dinner
“While I'm not a fan of eliminating carbs, limiting carbs the day before a big event can be beneficial for flattening the stomach,” says Elkaim. Have a green salad with veggies and some fresh salmon or sliced chicken on top. “Adding in some more protein to your salad will keep you feeling full.”

Water
Last, but certainly not least, remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day and your stomach should be feeling flat and fabulous just in time for your big day!
