How to Get Beyonce’s Super Sexy New Color
By Margaret McGriff |
Queen Bey has done it again. The color chameleon who has sported just about every hair color under the sun, has enlisted the help of her trusted colorist, Rita Hazan, to give her a brand-new look for a brand-new year.
Hazan gave Beyonce "more of an edgy look to kick off 2015 -- think tortoise shell with a metallic vibe.” She added platinum and honey highlights to Beyonce’s hair to lighten up her whole look. “I think we’re going to be seeing more natural tones with a dramatic effect this year. It’s not so much about being stripy or chunky, but rather placing the highlights just right to get this look.”
Inspired by Beyonce’s color and want to get the look yourself? Leave this one to the pros. “Ask for a multidimensional blond color that’s golden, not orange,” says Hazan. And, make sure that your colorist locks the color in with a good gloss. Hazan says the look works best on those with olive or darker skin tones.
Maintenance is super important here because you don’t want the color molecules to get washed away every time you shampoo. Use a color-preserving shampoo once a week and tone down any brassiness with an at-home color gloss like Rita Hazan’s Ultimate Shine Gloss. $26, ritahazan.com
