Summer Survival Tips for Healthy Hair

Nothing strips your beautiful (and expensive) hair color like the elements of summer. Sun, salt water and chlorine suck out the moisture from your hair and can lead to parched split ends and lackluster color. Here is how to protect it during the season so you won't spend the fall and winter in repair mode.

First and foremost, get a haircut. The sun will be more intense on hair that is already dry, so cut off split ends that have become brittle from lack of moisture now, instead of lopping all of it off at the end of the season. 

Next, when you're in the sun, protect your hair like you would protect your skin—with SPF.
