Not sure what all the hype about “farm-to-table” is? Farm-to-table is exactly what it sounds like—food fresh to the table, straight from the farm. This type of food is generally local and fresher than the average, which is evident in its taste and nutritional value. Fruits and vegetables are at their peak in both flavor and nutrition when they are ripe and freshly picked. Translation: They are loaded with unaltered antioxidants and phytonutrients, unlike the produce you will find at your local supermarket. What we like about eating farm-to-table: fresher foods, more diversity, fewer germs and a sense of balancing our bodies. The good news is local farmers’ markets are springing up everywhere.
