The French have long been praised for their classic and effortless beauty. Think Audrey Tautou, Brigette Bardot, Juliette Binoche and most recently Marion Cotillard. In fact, we can’t remember a time when Cotillard didn’t look amazing. Whatever she’s doing—or this case, not doing—seems to be working wonders.

Cotillard, in a recent interview, told reporters that the proliferation of plastic surgery makes her sad and that because of that, she currently has no plans to go under the knife—as of now at least. “I just think it’s kind of sad, because it shows the fear of women…I guess I won’t have Botox or whatever you put inside yourself to look younger. But then, I mean, I don’t know. I cannot judge this fear. It just makes me sad.”

The French actress also says that she’s not a fan of how women all start to look the same after injections and various cosmetic procedures. But does that mean she’s ready to embrace aging? Not quite. “I’m not looking forward to it. I know that it’s going to come. Some of the women around me, they tell me it’s not fun to get old. But it’s not about your look, it’s about the fact that you can not run like you did when you were younger, or—it’s just about when your body gets tired and you don’t have the hundred percent energy sometimes. So it’s not something that I look forward to it.”

She is looking forward to, however, becoming a grandmother. She just hopes that it happens sooner rather than later because she wants to be an energetic grandma—just not an old looking one.
