Break Up Your Workout For The Best Results

Looking to lose weight through exercise? Then you might have to keep a gym bag with you throughout the day to get the best results. That’s right, a new study recently revealed that getting in a 10-minute workout three times a day was more effective than a 30 minute session once a day.
The study, conducted by the Healthy Lifestyles Research Center at Arizona State University, was spurred by the increase of people who hit the gym inspired by the Olympics. During the study, volunteers were asked to take a brisk walk at about 75 percent of their maximum heart rate for periods of 10 minutes three times a day. Then, on another day, they were asked to walk at the same intensity for 30 minutes, and then rest on another day.
They found that breaking up the workout sessions made a significant impact in controlling blood pressure. So what does that mean for your waistline? The study also found that people were more likely to stick to a workout plan when it was broken up. Plus, other studies have shown that exercising at different times of the day has been proven to help weight control (particularly for women).
While you’re probably not going to qualify for the Olympics with this workout, you’ll be on your way to a trimmer waistline. Who’s to say you don’t deserve a gold-medal for that?
