Beauty Beverage Boosts Skin’S Health

Some things are so delicious that you'd consume them whether they had beauty benefits or not. So when you find out that something you love helps you look good also, it's a kind of blissful victory.

That's how I felt when I found out about the many benefits of tea. At first, it was health benefits ranging from lower stress to immunity support. Then news spread about antioxidants and teas' benefits for healthier aging. More recently tea has been touted for its effect on skin. A recent study in The Journal of Nutrition found that green tea polyphenols improved blood flow and oxygen delivery to the skin that resulted in better skin quality and even some UV protection.

These findings led Tea Forte to launch a new line of Skin-Smart Teas. The organic, Fair-Trade Certified teas are designed to combat signs of skin aging. The line carries Brunswick Lab's Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) seal, ensuring the potency of its antioxidants has been tested. Dermatologists are always saying that good health shows on the skin, so it stands to reason that ingestibles could become an important part of the evolved beauty routine. And with flavors like honey yuzu with green tea and lychee coconut with white tea, I'm inclined to drink them just for fun.
