Spa Facials: The Benefits And Warnings
By NewBeauty Editors |
Facial treatments are the cornerstone of any spa menu. And just as there are countless spas, there's an endless array of facials.
Ask any dermatologist, and he or she will likely agree that the exfoliation and pore cleansing associated with regular facials are beneficial for the look and health of the skin. Luckily, these treatments are easily found outside the doctor's office, in lush, relaxing and pampering settings.
There is one rule of thumb, however: with the exception of discomfort associated with some extractions and the mild tingling associated with chemical peels, facials should not be painful. If you experience bleeding or severe pain, ask the aesthetician to stop. Then, think carefully about returning.
