Smell Yourself Slender
By Marci Robin |
Living in Manhattan, I had no choice but to do a lot of walking to get where I wanted to go. Moving to Florida and driving everywhere for the first time in five years has done damage to my waistline... and thighs and arms. I'm at the tippy-top of a healthy weight range, and I'm ready to change that.
In my search for ways to improve my sugar-happy eating habits, I've found an unlikely ally: my nose. I've started using the Crave Control fragrance by Scentology, a collection created by smell-psychology expert Dr. Rachel Herz. It employs the brain's olfactory system to curb cravings for carb-heavy, sweet foods. This amazing aromachology method (not to be mistaken for aromatherapy) has been clinically proven to promote weight loss.
I was definitely skeptical. How could a vanilla-based scent make me not want sweet foods? But during my very first use of Crave Control, which I sprayed directly on my chest, the time-released fragrance actually made me feel like I'd already eaten the sweet foods I normally can't resist. I'm genuinely impressed, and I plan on using it over the following weeks for an extra boost of willpower.
Scentology is also available in Endurance Enhancer and Bliss Booster scents, and they're all available at Target.
