A Body Cream That’s Good Enough To Eat

Can you imagine growing up in a home where your mother didn't allow any sugary treats? And what about never having the experience of licking the frosting off of the beaters when your mom was done icing a cake? Sounds positively dreadful, doesn't it?!

Thankfully, that wasn't my childhood, but it was the way that the Jaqua sisters were brought up in their modest home in Santa Barbara. Maybe that's what inspired them to create (hands down) one of the sweetest, most decadently scented body products I have ever used. And I'm not their only fan either. Celebrities like Tyra Banks, Lacey Chabert, Kristen Bell, and Teri Hatcher are just mad for the sweet Jaqua flavors.

So where did I stumble upon this to-die-for jar of buttercream goodness? One of my girlfriends, who was a fan of their product line, purchased the Buttercream Frosting Sinfully Rich Body Butter for me a couple of years ago. She knew that I was addicted to sweets and of course, as any good friend, she wanted to indulge me. I smiled and thanked her but secretly, I thought I was receiving another useless jar of cheap, imitation sweetness. Boy was I wrong!

When I unscrewed the lid of the Buttercream Frosting, I was intoxicated by the rich, creamy, bakery scent. This was just like the frosting that my mom used to make. I was SO tempted to just lick it but thankfully, I resisted. Still, the faint, lingering scent of creamy, rich frosting drove me to the edge. I had to have cake! And so, I did. (Note: this is the biggest downfall of using this product-your uncontrollable urge to make, find, eat cake!)

Scent aside, there's something even more important for me. Would it feel great on my skin an hour after use? And furthermore, would it keep me moisturized throughout the day? The answer to both was (and is still) yes, thanks to the generous amounts of shea butter and sweet almond oil. As I get older, I tend to save my Jaqua Buttercream Frosting Sinfully Rich Body Butter for the spring and summer times, but only because it's much easier to jog off that cupcake!
