Maximum Moisture, Minimal Price
By Kristina Frazier-Henry |
When you have dry skin, especially in the winter months, you rely heavily on moisturizing creams to get you through the day. Finding a product that can provide you with that right balance-lasting moisture and a pleasing scent, along with a price that you can absorb-is a consistent juggling act. Just as soon as I think I've found one – it's discontinued or my body decides to go in a different direction.
I'm of the mindset that the higher-end brands take more special care to give you that balance than those you can purchase at your local drugstore. Sometimes, I'm wrong and when that happens, I'm secretly thrilled.
One of those rare gems that I've come across is St. Ives Skin Firming Moisturizing Therapy Lotion. Although it promises to make your skin softer, smoother, and more firm in just eight weeks, my motivation to use it is purely as a body moisturizer in those winter months. The consistency is thin and unfortunately, lower priced products have trained me to think that thin = use more! With St. Ives Skin Firming Moisturizing Therapy Lotion, a little bit goes a long way. The scent is extremely light, with a hint of rosemary. It's not overwhelming and doesn't clash with any of my other products. I've found that the longer and more consistent I am about using it, the softer my skin feels – especially my thighs. It is excellent at keeping my entire body completely flake-free and not once have I had an issue with dryness.
