LVMH Halts Production of Fragrances to Manufacture Free Hand Sanitizer featured image

In an announcement made Sunday night, LVMH has stated that they’re prepping their factories that make perfume and cosmetics for brands like Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy to make hand sanitizer during the coronavirus pandemic.

The French luxury company says they will deliver free disinfectant gel to the French authorities and hospital system starting Monday. “Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a lack of product in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right action to protect themselves from the spread of the virus.”

According to The New York Times, France is seeing a sharp rise in their coronavirus numbers, with cases surpassing 5,000 and the death toll at over 120 people. Like Italy, France has announced the closing of any “non-indispensible businesses, including restaurant, bars and movie theaters.”
