Whether she’s promoting her latest on-screen role—this time it’s in the 2020 film “Jolt”—or going public with her newest love, Kate Beckinsale has made the public eye her home over the last couple of years.

But one thing that’s never left the spotlight: her killer body. For the latest Women’s Health cover story, the model and actress sheds some light on how she stays looking younger than ever at 46.

Sweat Sessions
A surprise to no one, exercise is a huge part of Beckinsale’s life. Six days per week, she carves out time to workout with her trainer, Siskind. At the gym, the actress begins with a full-body workout composed of eight “compound exercises” that each work two muscle groups simultaneously: a biceps curl as she squats, or sit-ups with combination punches.

After the set comes 90 to 120 seconds of cardio, such as rowing or the VersaClimber. Then, the first eight exercises make another appearance—this time with heavier weights, a faster pace or added bands. (We’re sweating.) Then, Beckinsale will finish with a cardio interval using a “rubber Inertia Wave, or one-leg pushes on a curved SkillMill treadmill.” Finally, she stretches.

But that’s not enough: “I just got into trampolining, and it’s the greatest thing. There’s this woman, Lauren Kleban, who does LEKFit, and I think she’s a genius because she streams classes online. It makes you feel kind of jolly!”

In the Kitchen
Before any workout, Beckinsale says she always eats protein—usually chicken or eggs with grass-fed butter. The rest of the day she reaches for salmon, salads with brussels sprouts, radishes and safflower oil, and, of course, “the occasional handful of potato chips.”

While she’ll make exceptions for a guilty pleasure here and there, the actress also has some hard “no’s.”  “I think some people’s systems are just a bit sensitive to things,” she says, explaining why she’s completely cut out caffeine and alcohol from her diet. Another surprising no-no: dark chocolate. “If I ate too much dark chocolate, it would be like someone else taking cocaine.”
