Dewy, baby skin is definitely a perk of any facial, but for my oily and congested skin, it’s finally getting a break from all my blackheads that makes tearing through extractions worth it. Lucky for anyone who can relate, the latest launch from skin-care powerhouse Rodan + Fields, as announced this morning at the 2019 R+F Convention, is here to bust every blackhead in sight.

Inspired by the constant demand for in-office pore-cleansing treatments—and the professional-grade, suction-based blackhead extractor used in each session—Drs. Rodan and Fields decided to launch an at-home tool that serves the same purpose. The Pore Cleansing MD System ($260) combines gentle exfoliation, suction and pressure to literally suck the gunk out of your pores before your eyes with its two interchangeable heads—one for the T-zone, the other for blackhead-laden areas like the chin and nose.

Using the System is easy. Step one: On clean skin, apply the Pore Prep Solution—a liquid exfoliator that loosens up trapped oils and debris thanks to glycerin, salicylic and lactic acid—on congested areas and let it do its work before reaching for the tool. Then, decide which of the two interchangeable tips you’ll need.

The Pore Cleansing Tip delivers even suction and pressure and is ideal for general use in the T-zone area once a week, while the Blackhead Removal Tip is specific to blackhead extraction and can be used as needed, wherever stubborn blackheads live. (It boasts a spring-action mechanism to target and extract blackheads one by one.) Be sure to cleanse your face as the last step to ensure all debris is gone; once you see all of the gunk in the tip—these should be discarded after each use—you’ll understand why. The best, most satisfying part? You’ll see results immediately—just look at the photo below.

Results may vary depending on multiple factors: age, gender, skin type and condition, concomitant products used, health history, located, lifestyle and diet. Unretouched photos.

The Pore Cleansing MD System is available beginning October 1; replacement 8-pack Pore Cleansing or Blackhead Removal Tips can be purchased for $35.

But wait—there’s more newness launching in October! Aware that there are many skin types that do not fit into any of the brand’s existing Regimens (Redefine, Reverse, Unblemish, Spotless and Soothe), Rodan + Fields is launching one more: Recharge ($135).

Recharge focuses on maintaining luminous, healthy-looking skin—a goal common for those of us in our twenties and thirties. The three-step regimen makes the often daunting task easy, with each multitasking product boasting the new Electri5 Complex, made up of five nutrient-rich ingredients like prebiotics, electrolytes, peptides, superfruits and RFA+ Antioxidants (a proprietary ingredient created to shield against signs of aging) to keep skin taut, hydrated and glowing.

The easy-to-follow lineup includes a 3-in-1 Super Cleanser (designed for daily exfoliation and makeup-removal), Ultra Boost Moisturizing Treatment (a lightweight lotion that can be used morning and night) and Protect + Blur Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (an oil-free, mineral-based sunscreen-meets-pore-blurring primer). As seen below, clinical studies showed less oil, minimized pores and a bouncier appearance to skin when products were used in tandem for eight weeks—results anyone, at any age, can rally behind.
