Newlywed Husband’s Epic Beauty Buy Fail Has a Happy Ending

Nothing says "I love you" like a shopping bag filled with your favorite beauty products, right? For Facebook user Charmela Webb, choosing a special gift for her one-month anniversary was a no-brainer—a new highlighter and brush to go with it. Although she was ultra-specific about her request by adding that she preferred Fenty Beauty, her husband of one month didn’t get the memo—but he still came through—with office supplies.

When she received her one-month anniversary gift, she was surprised to find that it wasn’t exactly the highlighter she hoped for. Her husband had a simple explanation, instead of purchasing Rihanna’s much beloved Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter ($34) and Fenty Beauty Cheek Hugging Brush ($32), he went literal with an actual highlighter marker and a good old-fashioned Goody hairbrush. “Vince says, ‘Stink, after going to a few drugstores I couldn’t find no Fenty,'" wrote Webb on her post, “'but I got you Sharpie because they have been around for a cool minute.'”

Thankfully, this story concludes with a happy ending. Fenty Beauty couldn’t help but laugh at the mix up, but the brand was also quick to assure fans that Webb would still get the gift of cheekbones that glow to the gods. “Waiiittt... he tried it though. A+ for effort!!," shared the brand on their Instagram page, "@cwebb0414 we got the real thang coming to you soon!” Getting the latest Fenty highlighter sent to you directly from the brand is a special experience you can’t buy at the store, so in our eyes, this hubby’s epic fail turned into a major win.
