Frida Kahlo is famous for a lot of things, including her art, her feminist and political activism, and her unibrow. We know a lot about her work, but don’t really know anything about how she maintained her bold beauty statement. That is, until now.

Victoria & Albert Museum in London is opening up an exhibit this summer showcasing the Mexican artist’s personal artifacts. On top of jewelry, clothes and medicines, it will also include the makeup she used daily.

Along with a Revlon lipstick (Everything’s Rosy by Revlon, to be exact) and blush, the selection also includes the Revlon ebony eyebrow pencil Kahlo used to create her signature monobrow. It was with this one little product that she was able to create a look that broke the mold and helped her find her most authentic self.

“This is the real material evidence of the way Kahlo constructed her identity,” Claire Wilcox, the senior curator of fashion at V&A, told The Guardian.

It may seem like these artifacts are just some small, insignificant makeup items, but like her art and work in activism, they show how this inspiring woman made a stand to be herself. That’s not insignificant at all.
