As the weather gets cooler and we move into fall, dry skin becomes a major concern. What also happens but is often forgotten is a dry and flaky scalp.

Lots of people overlook the scalp as an area that needs to be taken care of, when in fact scalp care is incredibly important. Not only is it an extended part of your skin, but a fresh, clean scalp also means beautiful, luscious hair.
With that being said, the internet could be catching on seeing as it's newest fascination is a scalp exfoliating video. Christina Kreitel posted a video of her doing a scalp treatment on one of her clients this week and the internet went nuts for it. As of now, the Instagram video has been viewed over one million times.
Here's a full version of how to do a scalp treatment. I was extremely shocked on how fast that 10 sec video went viral. I was also shocked to see how many people thought this was lice 😂 and how many people have no idea what a scalp treatment is!!! I do these on my clients all the time! Step 1: brush dry dead skin from scalp with a bore bristled teasing brush (softer then a comb) Step 2: use @paulmitchellus Tea Tree conditioning Scalp Treatment and brush on freshly brushed scalp. Step 3: massage in for 10 mins. Step 4: wash and style. #licensedtocreate
In the video, you watch Kreitel somewhat buff a boar bristle teasing brush back in forth in small sections on the top of the head to pull up any residue from the scalp. “It's the season for scalp treatments,” she writes in her post. “I don't think people understand how important it is to exfoliate your scalp when the season changes! Fresh scalps make for fresh healthy hair!” She also notes that this isn’t just a treatment for people with dandruff, it’s something everyone can benefit from.
In a later video, she explains that the whole treatment consists of brushing dry skin from the scalp, massaging Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Conditioning Scalp Treatment in for ten minutes and then washing and styling.
She concludes the caption of her viral video with, “it's as satisfying as watching @drpimplepopper.” With that, she isn’t wrong. This video is just another addition to the internet’s infatuation with grossly satisfying beauty treatment videos.
