Chanel Is Releasing Its First Fragrance In 15 Years

From Coco Mademoiselle to No. 5, Chanel has always been a reliable pick for a timeless, feminine scent. But what you may not know is that it’s been 15 years since the fashion house has revealed a new fragrance. Described as an “abstract floral,” the newest fragrance called Gabrielle, named after Coco Chanel herself, will be officially released on September 1.

The eau de parfum (it is also being debuted with a new eponymous handbag from the brand) aims to embrace who Chanel was “before she became Coco,” Christine Dagousset, global president of fragrance and beauty at Chanel, tells WWD. “We’ve done a lot of research with Millennial women around the world, and you see very clearly [that] they don’t want to be put in boxes. They want to live their own lives, they want to be themselves, they want to choose their destiny.”
The bottled-up result: A harmonious blend of jasmine, ylang ylang, soft orange blossom, tuberose and a hint of blackcurrant that exudes the perfect balance of femininity and playfulness. We don't know about you, but our holiday shopping just got so much easier.
