Dr. Pimple Popper Finally Demystifies How Blackhead Tweezers Work
By Carolyn Hsu |
We’re used to seeing California dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, aka Dr. Pimple Popper use an assortment of gadgets (whatever it takes, from punch tools to blades) to extract some of the most stubborn blackheads and cysts ever seen by mankind. Now the doctor who made watching pimple popping videos an unofficial American pastime, is introducing a new tool to her repertoire—blackhead tweezers.

Judging by how viral this video went a few months back coupled with the millions of views Dr. Lee has already gotten on her own tweezer extraction video, it’s safe to say that social media viewers are fascinated with blackhead tweezers. But questions...so many questions--what exactly are they? How do they work? Where do we get one? We got the intel from Dr. Pimple Popper herself.
“I was asked my expert opinion about Blackhead Tweezers by a reporter a few months back, and at the time—I hadn’t tried them, so I ordered a pair to test out, and that’s where the video came about,” says Dr. Lee. “So far I've determined that the tweezer can work well when blackheads are more easily extracted, when the skin has been prepped first with a good steam and enzyme facial to help break up the hardened debris, but it is of limited use when the blackheads are stuck in the pores because it is more painful to push on the skin firmly. Also for very big blackheads whether they are very wide or very long, I believe that the Schaumberg type comedone extractor I use is superior. So I guess, ideally many of us who may extract blackheads often could really use BOTH. In fact, I think you may see an Official Dr Pimple Popper Blackhead Tweezer soon!”
Needless to say, we bet we won’t be the only ones in line to pre-order those.
