Summer is synonymous with a gorgeous, golden glow. But unless you totally disregard all the information we’ve been feeding you over the years about how harmful the sun is and why you should avoid it at all costs, then you’ll know that there are sunless ways to get a tan. Be it makeup or self-tanner, these options come with zero risk of premature aging and the potential for skin cancer.
But now that the temperatures are rising and more and more women are seeking out that summer glow, we hear that one of the newest and quite possibly most bizarre ways to go about getting darker skin is with the use of soda.
Women in the UK are reportedly applying Coca-Cola to their skin and sitting out in the sun in hopes of becoming dark and bronze fast.
While we don’t know for sure if this tanning technique actually works or not, the thought behind it is that the dark color of the cola acts like a tanning accelerator. While it’s got to be sticky, we’ll leave our tanning tactics to more tried-and-true methods like self-tanner, which we know definitely work.
