If you live in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio or Tennessee and you recently purchased beef products at your local grocery store, listen up. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), a food distributor in Louisville, KY, has issued a recall on more than 22,000 pounds of ground beef and other beef products due to a possible E. coli bacteria contamination.
The Creation Gardens Inc. products tested positive for the potentially deadly bacteria on Monday, and plant management alerted USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. Officials say the affected raw ground beef and beef primal cut products were produced between May 31 and June 2. To see if your meat is included in the recall, look for the establishment number "EST. 7914" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the product packaging.
