This Injectables Company Just Announced the Most Unexpected Makeup Collaboration

Galderma, the company behind injectables like Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne, just announced its most surprising brand collaboration thus far, and we couldn’t be more into it. The partnership is with Colorescience, a cosmetic skin care line that's known for its mineral makeup with UV protection.

While it may seem unusual for an injectables company to partner with a makeup brand, this specific collaboration actually makes perfect sense. A major aspect of Colorescience is its ability to make liquid, loose or pressed powder foundations that provide full-coverage SPF with every application. Because UV rays from the sun break down collagen and lead to sagging, deflated skin (which injectables like Restylane are often used to correct), we can’t help but see the obvious connection here.

"Galderma is pleased to offer our current and future customers the opportunity to receive not only innovative facial injectables, but top-line skin care solutions as well," said Alisa Lask, vice president, U.S. Marketing, Aesthetic & Corrective Business Unit, Galderma, U.S., in the press release.

Overall, this partnership hopes to leverage the brand's overlapping markets in order to spread exposure of both companies to women interested in anti-aging and preventive skin care. Hopefully, the collaboration will open up accessibility to facial injectables and protective makeup products by offering both products in one place—the dermatologist's office.

Galderma and Colorescience are still in the initial stages of working out the details within the partnership so it’s still unknown exactly what products will be included and where, however, we’ll be sure to update once we hear more information.
