Actress Sarah Rafferty (you may know her as well-dressed, quick-witted Donna on USA’s hit Suits) has learned a thing or two about beauty being on set for the six years. We caught up with the star to find out how she keeps her porcelain skin and signature red hair in tip-top shape, plus some of her wellness secrets, too.

Coconut Oil Rules

“It’s my go-to hair mask. I like to sleep with my hair saturated in it, or even better, go to hot yoga with it in. It is a magical deep-conditioning treatment and it leaves my hair soft and frizz-free.”

Face Wash Hack

“On days that I have not worn a lot of makeup, I take a break from drying face soaps and just use a cotton ball soaked in micellar water to clean my skin. It draws out impurities without drying out my skin, and it is super fast on a frantic morning.”

Smoothie Remix

“Lately I have been adding collagen peptides powder to my morning smoothie. Within a month, I have noticed a difference in the strength of my nails and softness of my skin. I’m looking forward to extra-strong hair soon too.”

Ice Water Facials

“Recently, during a particularly rigorous schedule of night shoots, I learned about the magic of ice water. I show up to work exhausted with a puffy, sleepy face—that face that still has pillow marks etched in it. My makeup artist generously provided me with a huge bucket of ice water to submerge my face in for as long as possible. It sounds like torture, but I swear it was like a mini-facelift and a magical 30-second de-puffer. It also impressed the rest of the gang in the makeup trailer and made me feel like a badass!”

Sauna Detox

“I am married to a Finnish man, so I learned long ago about the benefits of the Finnish Sauna. Nothing combats jet lag or dull, tired skin like a few sessions alternating in the sauna. Add in rolling in the snow, jumping in a freezing lake or just taking a very cold shower, and your blood will circulate to create an awesome detox. It is also a pretty awesome natural high. Just sayin’.”
