Molly Sims Gives Us a Glimpse Into Her Relaxing Bathroom

By ·

Model, actress, mother and wife, Molly Sims works hard to ensure each part of her busy life gets the attention it deserves, and that includes making sure to find time for herself. Sims says, “I tell myself to pick a lane. If I’m working, I’m all work. When I’m with my family, they are my priority, and it’s just as important to give yourself ‘me’ time as it ever was.”

NewBeauty: With so many fragrances to choose from, what do you look for in your favorite scents?

Molly Sims: I prefer masculine scents with wood or musk notes over floral or fruity scents. I’ve been wearing Santa Maria Novella for years! It’s my favorite.

NB: Taking off your makeup is such an important step in one’s beauty routine. What products do you like to use to wipe away the dirt of the day?

MS: Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 is great and makes skin care easy. The fact that I don’t have to rinse it off is definitely a plus.

NB: Can you tell me a little bit about your jewelry style and what you look for in the pieces you wear?

MS: Maybe it’s the Southern girl in me, but you’ll never see me without jewels—even if it’s just a pair of diamond studs. The jewelry on my vanity is what I wear almost every day. I’m all about layering. I love designers like Anita Ko, Jennifer Fisher and Jennifer Meyer.

NB: Your necklace is full of charms. Do they have any special meaning to you?

MS: I’ve had this necklace for 10 years and I keep adding to it. Each charm is personal, for my husband, kids, and even my dogs. I’m very sentimental, yet also extremely superstitious. I can’t leave my house without it!

NB:You have a wide selection of makeup in your drawer. Do you prefer to try new brands or stick to the tried and true?

MS: I love, love, love my beauty products! You can say I’m a little obsessed. Even though I’m always trying new things, I definitely have my staples.

NB: Any great makeup tips/advice you have learned along the way that you can share?

MS:

1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

2. Apply cream or white eyeliner inside the eye—it makes your eyes look bigger.

3. Curl your lashes…always.

4. Take whatever clear lip gloss you’re wearing and put it on your eyelids to keep them looking dewy, fresh and natural.

NB: The view from your tub looks amazing! With such a busy schedule, are you able to find time to take a bath and relax?

MS: I love my bathtub. I even bathe both of my kids in it from time to time. If I’m having a rough day, I always make time for a little rest and relaxation; it’s the key to sanity, in my opinion. When it comes to products, I love the bath salts from Herbivore Botanicals, and anything lavender-scented soothes me after a long day.
