People Are Not Happy About How Much Lululemon's Newest Pants Cost

Whether you’re an avid exerciser or just like to lounge around in workout pants, we pretty much all know that Lululemon is the gold standard in athletic gear. But, for as good as a pair of their Wunder Under Pants can make you look, they often come with a pretty hefty price tag (considering these are pants that you’re supposed to get sweaty in). And, if you thought that the prices of Lululemon workout leggings were already a bit on the steep side, then you’ll never guess how much this latest release is going for.

According to a report by WWD, Lululemon just created its Reflective Splatter capsule collection, which toys with a new—and pretty pricey—printing process. At the Lab store concept (locations are only in New York and Vancouver), you can pick up the new collection (as well as online and a few other key flagships worldwide), which comprises a four-piece collection of tights, shorts, a sports bra and a tank. While the top will set you back $68, it’s going to cost you a whopping $298 for the tights.

For $300 bucks, you would expect for the black and white print tights to do your workouts for you, but no, they don’t. Instead, a double-printing process is used that includes a superimposed reflective top layer, which tones down the brand’s popular graphics element but makes your body more reflective for runs (read: no more ugly reflective running gear required).

We hear that the collection will be available just in time for the New York City Marathon, which, according to the WWD story, is what partially led to the thinking behind the limited distribution strategy.
