My least favorite part of a facial is when the nice woman decides it’s time to do some exploring within the pores of my face. As she flashes that bright, white light across my face, I cross my fingers and hope that her efforts are fruitful but minimal. I have an appreciation for the end result and thus I have found that torturing my own skin, in between facials, is a good thing.
Sharp instruments aren’t my thing, but nose strips are. About seven years ago, when nose strips became the new “it” product, I tried at least six different brands to see which would work best for me. Many brands have come and gone but the one consistent and top player of the group is the one made by Biore.
The trick to Biore’s nose strips is one of trial and error. You have to get your nose wet enough, you need to make sure that the strip adheres well enough, and you have to be patient and let the strip dry long enough on your nose. If one of these factors run amok, then you won’t enjoy the full benefits of your self-inflicted torture.
Benefits? Aside from the morbid curiosity of getting to see what it pulls out of my pores, it truly does remove dirt, oil, and even the start of blackheads. I could be delusional however, I truly think that using these nose strips has cut down in the number of pimples that appear on my face, and most importantly, the amount of sharp instrument time I endure during facials.
