Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo ($23)

Boost volume at the root and make any trace of greasiness disappear with this sweetly scented staple. It sprays out white, which makes it better for blonds—I find that it actually kind of brightens my color—but the brand also has an “Invisible” version that suits darker hair colors.

It’s a 10 Miracle Dry Shampoo & Conditioner in One ($20)

Although it packs a ton of benefits into one can—it smooths frizz, repairs damage, hydrates dry hair and absorbs oil simultaneously—this double-duty spray is on the lighter side, so it feels completely weightless.

Kristin Ess Style Reviving Dry Shampoo ($14)

One of our favorite stylists to the stars, Kristin Ess nailed it with this powder-based dry shampoo that cleans the hair and masks a greasy look, but feels super lightweight so fine strands aren’t weighed down.

UnWined by HASK Champagne Inspired Volumizing Dry Shampoo ($9)

Infused with a champagne-inspired fragrance blend of sparkling apple, apricot and fresh lily—it’s not too perfumey though—this dry shampoo is a total bargain and volumizes lifeless hair without making it feel like it’s full of product.

Fekkai The One One More Day Dry Shampoo ($26)

Another one with an addictive scent—this one is fresh, clean and a bit aquatic—this dry shampoo works on all hair types and features Frederic Fekkai‘s exclusive marine technology that helps shield strands from pollutants as it absorbs excess oil.

Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo ($25)

This super effective dry shampoo is like a scalp treatment you wear all day. It instantly takes the itch out of dry scalps while making your strands look better. Plus, it has a really cooling—kind of minty—effect.

Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo for Dark Tones ($26)

This second-day-hair wonder-worker boasts the brand’s beloved signature scent and contains natural volumizing and deodorizing agents that instantly revitalize a blowout. Added bonus: It also comes in a version for light hair colors—so everyone can benefit.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk ($20)

Most beauty editors are die-hard devotees to this dry shampoo. Not only does it freshen up a blowout—not just on the second day, but often the third, fourth, etc—but it also adds volume in seconds, and our hair doesn’t “get used to it” (aka it stops working) with continued use.

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo ($22)

Not sure how many cans of this dry shampoo I’ve personally finished since I first got my hands on it years ago, but needless to say, it’s one of my favorite beauty secret weapons. It jump-starts flat, do-nothing strands and doesn’t leave behind a chalky residue like some formulas do. And, if you’ve never smelled amika products before, you’re in for a treat.
