There’s a lot happening in the world of beauty. Rather than try to keep up with it all, let us help. Here is what you need to know today.

1. NARS Cosmetics announced a partnership with 3.1 Phillip Lim. According to Style.com, you can see designer-inspired nail lacquers from the beauty brand in August of this year. There will be nine shades, and if their partnerships on the runways are any indication of anything, we can’t wait to see them.

2. Orange is in…well at least on lips. A bright tangerine/coral hue has been popping up on the pouts of celebrities like Kristen Bell and Solange (you can see pics on Glamour.com). The shade may scream summer but it’s a nice—albeit bright—break from winter gloom. If you want to try it for yourself, we like the sheer color of Clinique Chubby Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Orange

3. Love the microscrubbing beads found in face washes (we know we do!)? The New York Times reports that there is a ban sought on plastic microbeads in beauty products in New York State. According to the New York Times, “the beads appear in the tens of millions in the Great Lakes…with high concentrations along the New York shores of Lake Erie.” Manufacturers like Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson have agreed to phase out the use of plastic beads. Look for the proposed ban to be introduced as early as today.
