There’s a lot happening in the world of beauty. Rather than try to keep up with it all, let us help. Here is what you need to know today.
1. Garnier announced that Tina Fey is the face of their new Ultra-Lift skincare line, which, in addition to moisturizers and serums, includes “Ultra-Lift Transformer, an anti-age skin corrector…and Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream, a natural, pro-retinol formula that continues the battle against aging as you sleep.” Look for ads starring the comedy queen this month.
2. Turns out that exercise is even better for you than we thought! Researchers at McMaster University in Ontario recently found that “after age 40, the men and women who exercised frequently had markedly thinner, healthier stratum corneums and thicker dermis layers in their skin. Their skin was much closer in composition to that of the 20- and 30-year-olds than to that of others of their age, even if they were past age 65.” Read more on the findings at NYTimes.com.
3. Speaking of “skin age,” do you want to know how old yours really is? SK-II’s Beauty Imaging System can actually determine the age of your skin. Currently in pop-up shops in New York and San Francisco, the machine “takes a high-resolution picture of your skin, and determines your complexion’s actual age by analyzing texture, elasticity, tone, wrinkle resilience, and radiance.” It should be at SK-II counters soon nationwide or you can read about it (the editors over at InStyle.com took it for a trial run).
