There’s a lot happening in the world of beauty. Rather than try to keep up with it all, let us help. Here is what you need to know today.

1. Jason Wu launched his second line for Lacôme last week and it’s full of deep earthy tones. According to Style.com, the line is “printed with a floral pattern straight off Wu’s Pre-Fall ’14 runway,” and is “comprised of two lipsticks, two blushes, a scaled-down brush, three eyeshadow palettes, a liner, nail polish, and a mascara.”

2. A new clinical study found that birth control is actually as effective as antibiotics in treating acne in women over the long term. “The dermatological study shows that antibiotics are more effective than the Pill for the first three months of treatment, but are equally successful after six months.” You can read the full story on Time.com.

3. Illinois is the first state to ban synthetic plastic microbeads in beauty products, including soaps. According to NBCChicago.com, “the new Illinois law seeks to prohibit the manufacture of such products by the end of 2018 and the sale of the products by the end of 2019.”
