There’s a lot happening in the world of beauty. Rather than try to keep up with it all, let us help. Here is what you need to know today.
1. The secret to the Duchess of Cambridge’s flawless look? Lancôme. According to the Daily Mail, Kate has revealed that she owes her amazing skin to Lancôme Hydra Zen face cream (which is sadly not sold in the States) and Advanced Génifique serum (which we also happen to love). She also is said to be a fan of the brand’s mascaras. If you want to emulate Kate’s look, read the full story here.
2. Syneron received FDA approval to market the UltraShape™ System for non-invasive reduction of abdominal circumference via fat cell destruction last week. What does that mean for you? Starting in May, a select number of dermatologists and plastic surgeons will be able to offer the system, which “is the first and only non-invasive body shaping treatment that uses pulsed focused ultrasound energy that precisely targets subcutaneous fat, while keeping the surrounding tissue, vasculature, nerves and muscles intact.” In other words, it selectively targets fat cells and it requires less downtime, so a full treatment can be completed in four weeks. Read more on the UltraShape site and stay tuned here for developments.
3. Love a blowout bar? Us too! And if you like your beauty ala carte (and on the fly), you’re in luck—quick beauty bars are the latest in beauty trends. According to the New York Times, beauty bars, that offer services ranging from makeup touch-ups to dye bars that will fix your roots, are opening up all over New York City and Los Angeles and they’re services are much more affordable than that of a traditional salon. Don’t live in either of those cities? We’ll have to wait and see if it catches on but this beauty editor has a feeling it will. Read all about it here.
