One look at Hailey Baldwin’s Instagram feed and you’ll see the famous descendant of a famous Hollywood family cavorting with some equally famous friends. The 19-year-old model and daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin has become well known in her own right. With more than seven million Instagram followers and gal pals with the last names Jenner and Hadid, she knows that her every move will be scrutinized by the public.

A recent post that showed her sporting a plumper pout had thousands of followers scratching their heads about why she looked so different now than in the years before her time in the limelight. And in the era of Kylie lips, the first question on everyone’s mind was “did she get her lips done?”
In an interview with ES magazine, the young model addressed the endless questions she’s received about her changing looks. “Everybody literally thinks I’ve had plastic surgery,” says Baldwin. “My mom’s family call her and they’re like, ‘Did Hailey do her lips? Did she do her nose?’ Do people want me to go to a doctor and have them examine my face so they can tell people I haven’t? My face has just matured. I grew into my looks. I do look different than I did when I was younger, but it’s still the same face.”

Baldwin says she’s taking the criticism with a grain of salt, but the pressures placed on young women in the spotlight can be overwhelming. “This generation has a lot of eyes on them,” she said. “Everybody my age struggles with insecurities, so take that and multiply it by seven million people. There are people much older than me saying horrible things, who have no business paying attention to what a 19-year-old does. It’s not the best feeling in the world. But it comes with the job, so you just have to accept it and move on.”
