Ask An Expert: Another Fake Smile Tip-Off featured image

Every week, we ask the top beauty industry experts to share inside information with you, our loyal readers. This week, Atlanta, GA, cosmetic dentist, Ronald E. Goldstein DDS, responded to our post 3 Dead Giveaways a Smile is Fake, with another great tip. It turns out, there’s a fourth way to tell if a smile has been worked on-the shade of your teeth.

A “too bright” smile can be a dead ringer that you’re faking it. While you have the final say on what shade you get, Goldstein says that the shade should be age specific.

So how do you make sure that you’re choosing the right shade? Get multiple opinions. Goldstein says, “The main thing is to know before you go! Look at other friends and non-friends to see what you think looks good. Then communicate this vision with your cosmetic dentist to see if he or she thinks it will look good on you. And be sure to ask the dental assistant, hygienist, or others in the office what they think (without the dentist present) so you can get a variety of ‘expert’ opinions.”

In addition to getting multiple experts’ opinions, make sure you also get the opinions of your significant other and good friends because they really have your best interests in mind.

If you have beauty questions, post them on our NewBeauty Facebook Wall and we’ll try to get them answered each week.
