Sleeping on your side. Particularly if you favor one side, you’re likely to deepen wrinkles due to compression, or the extra pressure that pushes your skin together to form lines. Minimize wrinkle-inducing sleep by switching to your back.

Consuming refined sugar. Sure, sugar isn’t good for weight or controlling diabetes, but it’s also linked to inflammation and the production of free radicals, which contribute to how old your skin looks.

Wearing a facial mask longer than 15 minutes. You think you’re deep cleaning, toning or brightening your skin, but too much of a good thing can be bad. Wearing a mask for too long can strip moisture from your skin, leading to dryness, which can make the skin appear dull and more prone to premature wrinkling.

Waiting until you’re really hungry before eating. The hunger hormone, ghrelin signals the need for food to the brain and while this is perfectly natural, it can lead to overeating. After you start to consume calories, it takes about 30 minutes for the hormone to subside to normal levels. So by the time you realize your hunger is satisfied, you’ve eaten more than you needed to. Overeating leads to weight gain, which causes all sorts of health and physical problems that rob you of youthful looks and energy. Plan for snacks so you don’t reach that famished stage.
