Not only has the demand for organic groceries gone up at the super market, but it’s also becoming an important factor in the beauty department too. According to a new report published by Transparency Market Research, the global demand for organic personal-care products is estimated to reach 13.2 billion by 2018.

This growth is due to consumers concerns about the safety of their cosmetics, particularly their skin-care products. In fact, in 2011 organic skin care accounted for about 32.1 percent of the total organic personal care products market. This number is expected to rise 9.9 percent from 2012 to 2018.

However, this growth is not without its obstacles. Limited shelf life and raw material supply are a few of the challenges beauty companies will have to face. There’s also the really strict regulations that determine whether a product can be labeled organic or not.

The most popular brands churning out organic beauty products include Bare Escentuals, Aveda, Burt’s Bees, Origins, Kiehls and The Body Shop. But there are so many great brands out there that are organic and help the environment at the same time. What are some of your favorites?
