Those who suffer from the bumpy reddening of skin known as rosacea may also be prone to another kind of bumpy reddening: severe sunburns.
A recent study has revealed that 44% of people who have at least moderate rosacea report having gotten blistering sunburns, whereas only 5% of people who do not have rosacea can say the same.
Although the researchers could not definitively confirm if sunburns cause rosacea or if those with rosacea are truly more prone to sunburn, they do recommend consistent broad-spectrum sunscreen use.
