Instead of changing the food one eats after becoming obese, there may eventually be food that prevents obesity, if a group of Dutch scientists succeed at their goals. A government-sponsored institute in the Netherlands is currently developing food ingredients that would reduce appetite.
“We are working on certain food ingredients which provoke more satiety than others do in the long run so that our partners can use them in food manufacturing,” the program’s director told Reuters. One of said partners is Unilever.
They are also working on ingredients that would prevent diabetes by raising insulin sensitivity.
