Angela Bassett is known for her strong role in Black Panther, her killer body that just keeps getting better, and now, her sultry, purple-hued makeup look from this year’s Golden Globes.
Bassett’s makeup artist and member of the NewBeauty Brain Trust, D’Andre Michael, broke down all the products used for the 62-year-old’s vibrant look, and he didn’t skip out on anything.
For the skin, Michael started with DMK Cosmetics Crème Glace Primer before bouncing the DMK Cosmetics Premier Foundation in Ebony II Fawn and Ebony III Sable onto the skin. He finished everything off with the fine-milled and completely invisible DMK Cosmetics HD Loose Setting Powder in Dark Translucent. To add some shape and lift to her cheekbones, Michael applied the creamy and blendable DMK Cosmetics Blush Quad in Lilac and added a glow to the cheekbones with Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Ultra Glow Highlighter.
For Bassett’s sultry eye look, Michael used Pat McGrath Labs Divine Rose Luxe Eyeshadow Quad in Eternal Eden, and specifically chose to blend the color Temptation over the eyelid and underneath the eyelashes and buffed the peachy color Forbidden Fruit in the center of her lid. He also used the Pat McGrath Mothership VII Divine Rose Eyeshadow Palette in her crease and lower lid before applying the Permagel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in Black Coffee along the top and bottom lash line. Michael finished off her eye look with the Pat McGrath Labs FetishEyes Mascara.
The last steps were all about the lips. First, Michael blended the Pat McGrath Labs Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in Brownouveaux. Then, he topped off the liner with Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Divine Rose.
