To me, cleansing oils are one of the most ironically developed beauty products-they use oil to rinse away oil (and dirt, makeup and everything else that lingers on the skin). For my face, they’re usually a no-no-not because I don’t believe in them but my oily complexion craves a good, deep down cleansing. But, for my body, I actually like oil-based cleansers. They tend to lend a hydrating effect that lingers long after my shower, and boast fragrances that most shower gels can’t compete with. Plus, they make my skin feel so soft that sometimes I can skip the post-bathing routine of slathering my body, head to toe, in lotion.
My newest favorite is Molton Brown Body Remedies Cedrus Body Oil. Not only does this warm oil foam ever so slightly, it also is infused with a hefty dose of powerful antioxidants to cleanse the body and calm the soul and mind. There are two other offerings in the Remedies collection-Renew and Hydrate. I love that my skin feels refreshed and well moisturized without that greasy feeling or oily residue that can be common with so many other types of cleansing oils.
