Salicylic acid is one of the most popular ingredients in anti-acne products, and vitamin C is frequently found in formulas that help diminish post-acne discoloration. Both are found in Pharmagel‘s mighty moisturizer, Beta-C, and yet, to our bewilderment, there is no mention of either benefit in the brand’s description!
What Pharmagel does boast is Beta-C’s awesome anti-aging abilities. The combination of beta-hydroxy acid and stabilized vitamin C is a recipe for fewer fine lines and wrinkles, and less evidence of sun damage. Thanks to gentle exfoliation, antioxidant action and a jolt to collagen production, your complexion will act and appear more youthful.
Beta-C is also a reliable moisture-booster, thanks to conditioning ingredients-like chamomile, comfrey and calendula-that also double as skin soothers, just in case you experience any irritation from BHA (although highly unlikely).
Why Pharmagel has chosen to not tout Beta-C for its additional advantages, we don’t know-but getting a clearer, more even complexion along with firmer, smoother skin? We’ll happily shout it from the rooftops on their behalf!
