When I first saw Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer, I was confused. The bottle, which very much resembled what you would expect foundation to come in, was filled with a thin, whitish-gold liquid. Under the lid was what looked like a nail polish brush. I honestly wondered if I was on the receiving end of some sort of product/packaging mix-up.
The first time I tried the luminizer, I played it safe and used it around just my eye area. It glided onto my skin easily, and I waited for some big ta-dah to happen. Nothing. But once I layered on my foundation, it was a different story. It had the same effect as a brightening or reflective foundation. There were no unfortunate “sparkles,” and removing it was as easy as using cleanser and water. While I don’t use it every day, I apply it whenever I want to give my face an extra boost of dewy freshness.
